This is not the first time major lock manufacturers are releasing electronic push button locks for residential use. Schlage and Kwikset have released products that failed miserably and had to be pulled from the shelves. All who bought these locks were out of luck when they failed beyond the one year warranty. Now they use the Key over-ride feature of the lock because the electronics no longer work.

We will wait for the electronic locks to prove themselves this time before we will sell them to our customers. We have very reliable mechanical pushbutton locks for residential use.

If you are thinking about going keyless, stop in and discuss the options. But, remember that convenience usually diminishes security.
